Function of verbals

Use a gerund (ending in -ing) as a noun; a present participle (ending in -ing) or a past participle (ending in -d, -ed, -t, -en, or other irregular endings) as an adjective; or an infinitive (to plus a verb) as a noun, an adjective, or an adverb within sentences to vary sentence structure.
