Geography of Ukraine
* Description/Instructions
Ukraine was once a part of Kyivan Rus, which was a large and powerful state in Europe. It eventually became part of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. In the mid-17th century, a new Ukrainian state was established, the Cossack Hetmanate, which stayed independent for over a century. Most of the Ukrainian territory became part of the Russian Empire during the late 18th century. Ukraine was briefly independent after the fall of czarist Russia but was conquered by the Soviet Union and was ruled by it until 1991. Please choose the correct answers to the following questions.
