Simple and Compound Sentences
Simple Sentence: Has one subject and one predicate (an independent clause).
- The dog chased the ball.
- My bicycle is red.
Compound sentence: Has two or more simple sentences (independent clauses) joined by and, but, or, or.
- On Thursday, Phillip will drive to the city or he will wait until next week.
- We went shopping at the mall and we had dinner at a restaurant.
