Kinds of Phrases

Verb Phrases: made up of a verb, the direct/indirect objects, and any adverbs, or adverb clauses that modify the verb.
He had his homework yesterday.
We will meet later.
Noun Phrases: made up of a noun or pronoun, with any modifiers (adjectives, adjective phrases, adjectives clauses) and possessive nouns.
The bravest of my friends went first into the abandoned building.
Tamara's cat, Fluffy, sleeps in a box at the foot of her bed.
