Simple, Compound, and Complex Sentences
A simple sentence has a subject and predicate and expresses a complete thought. A compound sentence is two simple sentences that are joined together with a comma and a coordinating conjunction. A complex sentence has a dependent clause and a main clause. A complex sentence uses subordinate conjunctions like when, because, although, since, as, etc.
