1971 He moves back to Hawaii

At the age of 10, Barack's mother sent him back to Hawaii to live with his grandparents. He attended a prep school, and he was the only black child there.
1979 Barack attends college

Barack attended Occidental College in Los Angeles, but later moved to Columbia University in New York.
1982 He begins his career as a community planner
