Quiz
*Theme/Title:
Serbia Geography
* Description/Instructions
The Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes was formed in 1918 and changed its name to Yugoslavia in 1929. A movement headed by Josip Tito took control after the defeat of the Germans in World War II. Slobodan Milosevic became president of the Republic of Serbia in 1989, and his insistence on Serbian domination led to the breakup of Yugoslavia along ethnic divisions. As the country fell apart, Milosevic tried to unite ethnic Serbs into a Greater Serbia. This was not successful, but he kept control over Serbia. An Albanian insurgency in 1988 provoked a Serbian counterinsurgency and massacres and expulsion of Albanians from Kosovo. NATO-led forces were required to allow the safety of ethnic communities. Milosevic was defeated in elections in 2000. Ethnic violence continued, and the issues are not settled today. Please choose the correct answers to the following questions.
