Quiz
*Theme/Title:
Religion in Early Medieval Europe
* Description/Instructions
As Christendom expanded during the Early Medieval period it was clear that the Byzantine Empire and Western Europe had different understandings of religious authority and practice, and as a result religious and political tensions ran high. However, the expansion of Christianity also allowed for great cultural and religious development, which saw the Church as the centerpiece of European life. Monasticism became a center of religious devotion and study causing further development of religious practices and ideals.
