*Theme/Title:
Multiplying Complex Numbers.
* Description/Instructions
Complex numbers are made of real numbers and imaginary numbers and are written in the form (a+bi)(c+di). In order to multiply them you must understand the FOIL method, and the concept that i^2 = -1.
Below is a worked example:
(1-3i)(2+5i)....using FOIL
(1*2)+(1*5i)+(-3i*2)+(-3i*5i)
2+5i-6i+(-15(i^2))
2-i-15(-1)
2-i+15
Answer = 17-i
Here are some examples to be worked...good luck!!!
