The Months and the Date (الشهور و التاريخ)
There are a couple of monthly calendars in the Arab world depending on the region and religion. The one below is the Gregorian calendar, the most widely used civil calendar internationally, and the one that you are likely most familiar with.
Saying the Date
In Arabic the date is written day/month/year. So September 19th, 2014 would be written as 9/19/2014 or ٢٠١٤\١٩\٩ .
Saying the full date in Arabic is very simple once you know all of the components.
Remember Arabic goes right to left so start

If the date is not today's date, such as in the example above, the word هو (huuwa) changes to َكان (kaana) to mean "the day was". Some dates in the past are given here as examples.

Saying the full date in Arabic is very simple once you know all of the components.
Start with the phrase اليوم هو (alyoom huuwa) meaning "today is".
Say the number of the date, then the month.
Then say في عان (fi 3aam) which means "in the year."
Then state the year.
