Quentin Tarantino is an American actor, screenwriter, and director, who became famous as an independent filmmaker in the early 1990s. He was born Quentin Jerome Tarantino on March 27th, 1963, in Knoxville, Tennessee, to Connie McHugh and Tony Tarantino. By the age of 14 Quentin had written his first screenplay titled Captain Peachfuzz and the Anchovy Bandit, inspired by the 1977 film Smokey and the Bandit. After several years of working in various roles in the film and theatre industry Tarantino was hired to write the screenplay for From Dusk Till Dawn. He also wrote, acted in, and directed Reservoir Dogs, which became an immediate hit in 1992. His career took off and he became known for the violence and gruesomeness in his films.
