Pronoun-Antecedent Agreement

Pronoun: a word that takes the place of a noun. The noun that is replaced by the pronoun is called an antecedent.
Example: Melissa is my friend. She likes ice skating.
Pronouns have to agree with the noun that they replace.
Wrong: Melissa is my friend. You like ice skating. (You does not agree with Melissa.)
