Coordinating, Correlative, and Subordinating Conjunctions

Coordinating conjunctions join individual words, phrases, or clauses. They include and, but, or, nor, for, so and yet.
Correlative conjunctions appear in pairs. They include either...or, neither...nor, and whether...or.
Subordinating conjunctions are used between an independent and dependent clause and include although, as, because, before, if, once, since, than, that, though, unless, until, where, when, whether, and while.
Coordinating: Robert and William are planning a trip so they are making a list of what to pack.
Correlative: Robert will pack either an umbrella or a raincoat in case of bad weather.
Subordinating: William isn't packing any shorts although the temperatures will be warm during their trip.
