Comparing Decimals

You can compare two decimals to see which is larger. Express the comparison using greater than ( > ), less than ( < ), or equals ( = ) signs.
To compare two decimals, compare each place value, starting at the far left (the largest place value) and moving right (to the smallest place value). If the numbers in the same place value are equal, move right to the next place value. When you see two numbers in the same place value that are different, you can tell which one is greater.
