Adding and Subtracting Fractions- Word Problems

Solving word problems that ask you to add or subtract fractions is done the same way as adding or subtracting fractions in regular math problems.
- Look for clues in the word problem to tell you whether you need to add or subtract.
- When adding or subtracting fractions with the same denominator, keep the denominator the same and add or subtract the numerator.
