Sentences and Sentence Fragments

A sentence expresses a complete thought, and includes a subject and a predicate (a noun/verb combination).
A sentence fragment is unfinished and usually contains a subject or a verb.
Example: Once upon a time. (Sentence fragment)
Once upon a time there was a beautiful princess. (Complete sentence)
Dogs in the water. (Fragment)
Dogs splash in the water. (Sentence)
