Rounding to the Nearest Hundred

Sometimes, you don't need a precise number. You just need a close estimate that's an easy number to work with. This is where rounding comes in. Rounding takes a number and finds the closest "round number" (usually a multiple of 10 or 100).
To round to the nearest 100 means to find the closest multiple of 100 to a given number. Find this by looking at the tens place of the number. If the digit in the tens place is 5 or greater, round up to the next largest multiple of 100. If it is 4 or less, round down to the next lowest multiple of 100.
