Using Root Words

CCSS.ELA-Literacy.L.3.4c Use a known root word as a clue to the meaning of an unknown word with the same root (e.g., company, companion).
A root word is a basic word or word part that has its own meaning. Prefixes and suffixes can be added to it to change the meaning slightly.
