Choosing a Comma, Dash, or Parentheses

Information set off with a dash is emphasized, but may be off track from the sentence. It can also indicate an interruption to the sentence.
Examples: I will now tell you tomorrow's winning lottery numbers - just kidding!
Now, take out your homework - please stop talking! - and begin with the first problem.
After school I have track practice - I'm so tired already!
