CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RF.2.3a Distinguish long and short vowels when reading regularly spelled one-syllable words.
A long vowel is a sound that is the same as the vowel's name (a, e, i, o, or u). It is often formed by two vowels working together (the first one says its name) or a final silent e.
