Europe : Cyprus Geography Quiz
Cyprus won independence from Britain in 1960. Soon after, tensions between the Greek majority and Turkish minority exploded into violence in the capital. Most of the Turkish minority was forced into small enclaves. When Greece sponsored an attempt to take control of the whole country, it was met by a Turkish military intervention, which gained control of about a third of the island. The issues are ongoing between the two groups, although progress has been made. Please choose the correct answers to the following questions.
