Michale Oher is a professional American football player who became famous when his life was featured in the Oscar winning film The Blind Side in 2009. He was born Michael Jerome Williams, Jr. on May 28th, 1986, to Denise Oher and Michael Jerome Williams. His mother had alcohol and drug issues and his father was often serving time in prison. In his first nine years as a student he attended 11 different schools, was placed in foster care at the age of 7, and was also homeless at times. In 2004 Michael Oher began to live with Leigh Anne and Sean Tuohy and their children. They adopted him and hired a tutor to help him keep his grades up. He went on to play football for the University of Mississippi and eventually drafted to the NHL in 2009.

Michael Oher was born in Memphis, Tennessee. He had 11 brothers and sisters.
Michael Oher had to repeat grade one and two due to having little support at home and having difficulty as a student.
While in his senior year of high school Michael Oher's father was murdered in prison.
Michael Oher went to live with Leigh Anne and Sean Tuohy when he was 16 years old. When he was 17 they became his legal guardians. He was already showing a lot of promise in football.
After struggling with academics Michael was provided with a tutor that helped him raise his grades enough to garner several scholarship offers.
Michael Oher was offered scholarships from schools Auburn, Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana State, Alabama, and South Carolina. He ultimately chose the University of Mississippi, which was also the alma mater of his newly adopted parents.
There was an investigation into Michael Oher's choice of scholarship but the NCAA ruled that there was no collusion or violations.
Michael Oher declared in 2008 that he was entering the NFL draft in 2008 but only a few days later changed his mind. He decided to return to Ole Miss and finish his degree.
In 2009 Michael Oher graduated from Ole Miss with a criminal justice degree.
Michael Oher began his professional football career as #74 of the Baltimore Ravens in 2009. He signed a five-year contract worth $13.8 million.
Michael Oher won a Super Bowl ring in 2013 with the Baltimore Ravens. They defeated the San Francisco 49ers 34-31.
In 2014 Michael Oher signed a four year contract with the Tennessee Titans worth $20 million.
After starting in 11 games for the Titans Michael Oher was put on injured reserve because of a toe injury. He was released by the Titans on February 5th, 2015.
On March 6th, 2015 Michael Oher signed a two year contract with the Carolina Panthers, worth $7 million.
Michael Oher played in the Super Bowl 50 in 2016 with the Panthers. They were defeated by the Denver Broncos 24-10.
Michael Oher signed a $21.6 million three year extension contract with the Panthers in 2016 but was released in 2017 due to a failed physical.
