A disclaimer is a statement of denial or rejection. Many times you will see disclaimer statements related to a denial of responsibility. Disclaimer statements often will outline the limits of responsibility or rights.

This book is a collection of essays by various writers. The publishing company is not responsible, or does it necessarily share, the opinions expressed herein.

Excerpt from the "Terms of Use" on the Fox News Website: "FOX News expressly disclaims any warranties and conditions of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non - infringement. In particular, FOX News makes no warranty that your use of the FOX News Services will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error - free."
